Goldeimer – literally translated “golden bucket” – is a clean, sustainable and fun sanitation solution for large scale events like music festivals.
The Goldeimer toilets are designed to close nutrient cycles, save water and turn faeces into gold – or better to say humus.
Being set up as a social business, Goldeimer contributes to a universal access to improved sanitation for those 2.4 bn people who do not have a safe toilet or practice open defecation: A large proportion of profits generated by Goldeimer finances sanitation and water projects of Viva con Agua and the Welthungerhilfe.
Apart from providing toilets on music festivals, Goldeimer is active in raising awareness about the worldwide sanitation crisis and informs people about the effects of deficient sanitation: Since February 2016 the Goldeimer toilet paper is available in shops – an unconventional way of spreading the message „all for sanitation – sanitation for all“ (www.goldeimer.de/klopapier).
Goldeimer started its activities in 2013 (kick started by the yooweedoo project, the predecessor of the Zukunftsmacher.sh) with two toilets and grew to a number of 80 toilets in 2016. Until know Goldeimer successfully brought sustainable sanitation to around 40 events and counted around 100.000 uses all together.
